It must be sciatica week at Dancing Crane. It started with my wife on Sunday who hates acupuncture, by the way. Not that she doubts it works, but she’s terribly needle sensitive. Her pain was so bad, she decided to just dive in. A few points to knock loose some rust, an extra point to calm down the nervous system so she could get out of the way, and success. I was feeling pretty good about all that because again, she hates acupuncture.
I got to the office on Monday and had three patients I see pretty regularly for different things, all with sciatic pain that day. They all presented a little differently so I treated them all basically the same with a tweak here and there. Then again on Tuesday, two more patients with sciatic pain. There must be something in the water. Maybe they all play on the same soccer team and didn’t properly stretch pregame. I don’t know but my sciatic pain peacock feathers are showing out because so far this week I’m batting a thousand.
No two cases presented quite the same and they all got a slightly different treatment, but we got relief with everyone. Thanks, ladies for letting me share. The bottom line is that since all cases are not the same, acupuncture allowed me to zero in on what wasn’t right.
